Comedy makes its way into the poker world

You may have thought that poker was confined to tense, competitive environments, however at the London Poker Festival another element has been added into the fray. Held during September of this year, there was not only a lot of playing the game, but also some great comedy nights. This will have been something fun, for those who enjoy the lighter side of life like perhaps our own listeners. The comedy nights broke up the competitive tension and allowed players to unwind with laughter.

However, the focus of the London Poker Festival was the eight main events that everyone had come to either play in or be entertained by. Many of the competitors will have been perfecting their talent for years, playing on sites like http://www.partycasino.com in order to practice their skills. The eight main poker events took place in different locations across the city, including London’s Empire Casino which played host to the LCI United Kingdom Poker Tour and Aspers in Stratford which is where the Unibet Open was held.

The London Poker Festival also included the exciting event of the British Poker Awards. This ceremony is held in order to pay tribute to those who have worked hard in the United Kingdom’s poker industry. This industry has grown a lot in popularity over recent years and this success is all down to the hard work of such people. This took place on the 17th September, which was towards the end of the festival. Then, the GUKPT was held on the 20th, a competition with a £1,000 + £70 freezeout. With a starting stack of twenty thousand, it was a very exciting time in the festival for all involved and even those who were not actually playing in the event.
